Jake #3252

Jake is an Australian Shepherd mix.  He was 9 1/2 years old when he joined us April 1999.  His owner brought Jake to us because he was going into a nursing home and could not take jake with him.  Jake is somewhat crotchety in that he does not get along with other dogs, does not like cats and does not care for very young children.  Jake's great love in life is going for a walk.  His happy woof-woof as he walks through the kennels tells one and all that he is going for a walk.  His bright eyes and big smile tells everyone in sight that he is on his way outside.  His plume of a tail gently waves back and forth as he leads the way out the door.

Jake is a special needs dog because he is a senior citizen and we think that he is the oldest dog in the kennels.  Jake is neutered, has had some training and walks well on a leash.  He is housebroken.  Anyone taking Jake home would have a great companion for long slow walks.  Jake is wise enough to know that walking is good exercise for everyone: it keeps you in shape, it reduces high blood pressure and high cholesterol.  Jake firmly believes that you should take time to smell the roses, the bushes, the trees, the fire plugs, and the whatever there is along the way.  Jake would love nothing more than to spend his remaining golden years with another senior citizen who would enjoy a happy companion for walking and smelling the roses along the way in life.  If you have any questions about Jake or any of our other special needs pets you can phone us 997-4277.
